Growing an audience
TEDxToronto is an independently run TED event in Toronto where thought leaders present ideas worth spreading – in 18 minutes or less. The event was established in 2009 by a group of passionate volunteers as a place for Torontonians to share ideas and motivate action.
Pilot PMR became the first official PR partner for the event in 2011. Over the years, we have focused on growing the conference’s audience through annual, integrated media relations campaigns.
This coverage has more than doubled year-over-year thanks to media relations efforts centered on raising profile for the TEDxToronto brand, as well as individual speakers. Recent media coverage results have topped 35 million media impressions across a wide variety of targeted traditional and online media.
The conference has become this city’s biggest, best-known speaker series, attracting global attention. In 2013, TED.com rated TEDxToronto in the top 10 of TEDx events around the world and an impressive number of TEDxToronto talks are featured on TED.com.
