An identity and online presence for an artistic sensibility
We helped non-profit contemporary art organization Partners in Art find a visual voice that matches the high quality of art they support and share. We created a new visual identity and website that would elevate the great, collaborative work they already do, letting the art speak for itself.
Just Sharp Enough
We created a new mark for Partners in Art that speaks to their strength as a member organization that supports bold contemporary art and education. The Partners in Art mark is strong and deliberate without overwhelming the work itself. We also did extensive research into the landscape and logo fields on which Partners in Art would find itself situated to make sure we created a mark that would demand attention.
Accessible and Elevated
Partners in Art has raised more than 4.7 million in support of contemporary art across Canada. Their work is deeply thoughtful, but they aren’t in the business of highlighting their patronage. Instead, the new website needed to be a vehicle to showcase the great work and impressive exhibitions they help mount. It also needed to provide information to prospective artists and organizations. Our work was about illuminating art and information, making a rich trove of content more accessible.
We conducted background research and analysis, helped us uncover ways to make big performance improvements beyond a visual refresh.
We restructured the site architecture to bring the art to the forefront. This centred around a project database where almost 20 years of art exhibitions facilitated by Partners in Art can be browsed and filtered by various aspects. Each exhibition features a rich display page with write ups, videos, and image galleries.
Another key aspect of the website was a new members account area. This is a custom experience for Partners in Art members, powered by the CMS but with a completely separate, custom branded interface.
Our rebrand helped position Partners in Art for the next stage of growth. More than just a committee of art lovers, they’re an active organization of art supporters, having an impact on the Canadian contemporary art landscape and beyond. This new visual identity and website reflects that.
